"Maya Blue"

The impact of a meteorite is the origin of the Cenotes at the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. The cenotes are lagoons formed by the wear of the limestone during millions of years. The Mayans believed that the cenotes could be portals to the underworld and, therefore,

a way to communicate with the gods.

The Mayan used indigo, copal incense and palygorskite for medicinal purposes, three healing elements that were combined with fire during the ritual at the edge of the Sacred Cenote. The result created «Maya Blue», symbolic of the healing power of water in an agricultural community.

“The memory of life arrived on this earth carried by the soul of water. From this memory, life awoke, the human being emerged...”
